4th grade is the year students study our
state in depth. We will be exploring Wisconsin's landscape and how it
was formed by glaciers 20,000 years ago, who were the first native Americans
living here, who were the first Europeans to visit Wisconsin, how mining
(and the term "badgers" was used) and then lumbering shaped the economy of
our state, who the first settlers were, and how dairying rose as such a
prominent industry (giving us the nickname, the "Dairy State").
And that is just the start!
